Body Image & Eating Concerns

Our bodies are our homes. Yet they are constantly under scrutiny, as we are told time and time again how our body isn’t good enough, how it doesn’t measure up. This can result in having a poor relationship with our body, and often times food by extension.

I believe that all bodies are good bodies, regardless of where you naturally fall on the weight spectrum. That being said, I utilize a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach, meaning that I recognize that weight is not an accurate indicator of health, and that health cannot be determined by someone’s weight. I also utilize an Intuitive Eating approach, which emphasizes our bodies’ natural wisdom in knowing how, when, and what to eat. I draw from values of body positivity, body respect, weight inclusivity, and fat liberation.

If you are struggling with hating what your body looks like, disordered eating, restricting what you eat, binge eating and feeling out of control when you eat, chronic dieting, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and/or over-exercising, then I would love to help you. I aim to help you break free from the diet culture that has tried to convince you that you and your body are not good enough. Our bodies are our homes, and you deserve to feel at home in your body.

Please note that depending on the severity of your eating disorder, I may not be able to provide you with the level of care that you deserve. Please contact NEDA (National Eating Disorders Association) for more help here.
